TSC Advertises 20,000 Permanent Junior School Teaching Jobs

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the recruitment of 20,000 teachers on permanent and pensionable terms to address the shortage of teachers in junior schools and support the implementation of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum. The recruitment comes as schools continue to experience staffing challenges following the rollout of junior school education.

According to the commission, the vacancies are open to qualified post-primary teachers who are registered with TSC and meet the prescribed academic and professional requirements. Applications will be submitted online through the TSC recruitment portal, with the application window opening on August 18 and closing on August 31, 2026.

TSC said the recruitment will be conducted on merit based on vacancies available in each county and sub-county. The commission also cautioned applicants against fraudsters, stressing that the recruitment process is free of charge and urging the public to report any individuals demanding payment in exchange for employment opportunities.

The latest recruitment drive is expected to improve staffing levels in junior schools, enhance learner-to-teacher ratios and strengthen the delivery of the Competency-Based Education curriculum. It also offers employment opportunities to thousands of qualified but unemployed teachers across the country.
