Over 6,000 Police Recruits Pass Out in Kiganjo Parade

More than 6,000 police recruits have successfully passed out from the National Police College Main Campus in Kiganjo, Nyeri County, after completing nine months of intensive training.

President William Ruto presided over the 149th Kenya Police Service pass-out parade, congratulating the graduating officers for their discipline, endurance and commitment throughout the training period.

The newly graduated officers are expected to be deployed to police stations, specialised formations and other units across the country to strengthen the police workforce and support security operations.

The ceremony also marked the unveiling of a new police uniform, with the graduating recruits becoming the first officers to wear the newly introduced attire. The uniform is expected to be gradually rolled out to general-duty officers as part of efforts to improve their working conditions and morale.

During their training, the recruits underwent rigorous physical, academic and professional instruction designed to prepare them for their responsibilities in law enforcement and public safety.

The officers are expected to uphold professionalism, integrity, discipline and respect for human rights as they begin serving communities across the country.

The graduation comes at a time when the Kenya Police Service is under pressure to strengthen public security, improve accountability and implement reforms aimed at enhancing the quality of policing.

The addition of the new officers is expected to boost the country's policing capacity and help ease staffing pressures in different parts of Kenya, while supporting ongoing efforts to improve security, professionalism and service delivery within the police service.
