Malkia Strikers Reach Semifinals After 3-1 Comeback Win Over Algeria

Kenya recovered from an early setback to defeat Algeria and book a place in the last four of the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship.

Kenya’s Malkia Strikers have reached the semifinals of the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship after overcoming Algeria 3-1 in a hard-fought quarterfinal encounter.

The hosts made a difficult start to the match, dropping the opening set 21-25 as Algeria took an early advantage.

Kenya responded strongly in the second set, producing a dominant display to win 25-7 and level the match at 1-1.

The Malkia Strikers maintained their momentum in the third set, taking it 25-15 before completing the comeback with a 25-18 victory in the fourth set.

The 3-1 win secured Kenya’s place in the last four, keeping their campaign on course as they continue their pursuit of another continental title.

Kenya will now face Cameroon in the semifinal, setting up another important test for the Malkia Strikers as they look to progress to the final.
