The latest Infotrak CountyTrak Performance Index has ranked Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata, Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya as the country's top-performing governors, citing improvements in service delivery and development across their counties.

According to the survey, which was conducted between January and May 2026, Kang'ata emerged as the best-performing governor, followed by Wamatangi in second place and Natembeya in third. The report assessed public satisfaction with the delivery of essential services, including healthcare, infrastructure, education, water, agriculture and overall county development.

The survey also highlighted growing public expectations for accountability, transparency and efficient use of public resources.

The performance rankings are expected to influence political conversations ahead of the 2027 General Election, with strong ratings likely to boost the political standing of some county leaders while increasing pressure on others to improve service delivery.

The findings are expected to shape public debate on county leadership ahead of the 2027 General Election, with highly rated governors likely to highlight the survey as they seek to consolidate public support.
